Mangaluru: SAC to hold national-level animation seminar ‘Sparkle’

Mangaluru, Dec 6: The department of Computer Science, Application and Animation of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) will organize ‘Sparkle 2017’, a national-level animation seminar on December 9 at Eric Mathias Hall.

Animation is one of the fastest growing career options in the country these days. The seminar seeks to highlight the importance and rapid growth of the industry and advance the technological skills of the students in this field.

The speakers for the sessions will be Nithin Rao Kumblekar, illustrator; Vivek Bolar, CEO, AUM Animation Studios, Mangaluru and Kishore Boloor of the ‘Jungle Book’. The inauguration will take place at 9 am and will be inaugurated by Fr Dr Melwyn S Pinto SJ, vice principal of the MAFFEI block.

There will be three sessions during the seminar - ‘Use of Illustration in Media’; ‘Animation Production Process- from Script to Screen’ and ‘A Talk on the making of the Jungle Book’. The seminar will also allow students to showcase their talent in the field through various competitions such as video ad-making, poster designing and pencil sketching.
